Jane Teaberry has been living with her grandparents and is about to graduate from high school, when her grandparents leave for a cruise for two weeks. Jane is hoping to lay low while they are gone, but someone breaks into the house and tries to steal her grandparents' paintings. The police seem to think she might be involved When she tries to figure out what to do next, she stumbles over a secret about her grandparents that she has to solve with the help of her cousin, Ashley, and her new friend, Nate. They have no idea what trouble they will find in New York City and the streets of Paris.
