Smart cities refer to cities that use information and communication technologies (ICT) and the Internet of Things (IoT) to optimally manage urban resources and services. The main goal of these cities is to increase the quality of life of citizens, improve the efficiency of public services, and reduce negative environmental impacts. In this context, data and information are recognized as the main resources in decision-making and urban management. Smart cities use technologies such as smart sensors, advanced communication networks and data analysis systems to better monitor and manage urban activities.
