The Lies That Bind

"Me Too." The message is clear. This is a story among way too many, that was born of abuse in all its ugly forms. I am but a statistic, who, has made a choice. I am sharing my experiences of this seemingly never ending plague that has been growing at alarming rates for generations. I am no more special than anyone else. I am sure my birth was uneventful and I could have been born into any other family. My destiny was forged from the moment I took my first breath. My name is Cathy and I love life. The fate that I endured was the fate I had no choice in. Now I have a choice. It is time for the feelings of guilt to stop. The onus must be put back on the perpetrators and not the victims who have suffered in silence and shame. I won my battle. I live my life on my terms and I want others to do the same. You are worth the love someone feels for you. It is your choice if that love is returned. You can live a life of splendor on your terms. Life can be beautiful. Allow yourself to be free from the monster of abuse. I feel blessed to be free from my past and I look only forward to an amazing future with people that love me.
