The Flowing Sand

Marc Caldwell is a decorated veteran detective for the Briscoe, Texas, Police Department. He has seen his fair share of crime through his time of service, but when local teen Mercedes Vargas goes missing, Detective Caldwell and his partner, Shawn Peterson, are in a cat-and-mouse game with the kidnapper, who wears a scarecrow mask to hide his identity. After threats and warnings from the kidnapper, a second girl goes missing, and the kidnapper continues to call the police, proving he is bold and truly does not believe he will be caught. He ends each of his calls with this phrase: "The sand is flowing."Will Detective Caldwell be able to track down the mysterious kidnapper who hides behind a scarecrow mask? And will he ever discover what the kidnapper's cryptic catchphrase means?
