The Crack of Doom

The Crack of Doom investigates the risk of unregulated scientific tests and experiments. It contains the first portrayal an atomic explosion. Robert Cromie (1855-1907) was a Belfast journalist and novelist. He wrote several science fiction novels which used as an inspiration to much more popular H. G. Wells. Cromie's novel The Crack of Doom was his most successful and contains the first description of an atomic explosion.
