On May 9, 1986, thirteen days after the Chernobyl disaster, eight reporters were allowed to enter the scene of the tragedy. Among them was Francesco Bigazzi, the correspondent of Ansa agency. Since that day, Bigazzi has come back to those places several times and has continued to follow the story closely, collecting stories, data, and testimonies. This book is a detailed account of a nuclear disaster based on exclusive documents and interviews with the protagonists, including those who remained silent for a long time trying to hide a terrible truth.
