Whilst the greatest effort has been made to ensure the quality of this text, due to the historical nature of this content, in some rare cases there may be minor issues with legibility. The sources of these annals are many. In addition to the wealth of material on the shelves of libraries, wills and deeds in county offices, and church and old Dutch Bible records have been collated. Care has been taken to make a list of all authorities. The reference figures running through the narrative portion of the book are explained by the reference index which is found on the pages preceding the index to names.
