ENGTelling October examines the rich and accretive processes by which the new Soviet regime sought to construct the events of 1917 as a major revolutionary event, indeed a foundation event, for the new Communist state. As a memory project, it sought to socialize generations of Soviet citizens into an understanding of October as just such a watershed event.
