Synthesis and characterization of Nanocomposite liquid crystals

pocket, 2025
Engelska
The advent of nanoparticles has transformed the study of liquid crystals (LCs), which have characteristics of both solid crystals and normal liquids. Liquid Crystalline nanocomposites are produced when these microscopic particles are dispersed throughout a liquid crystal host. The electro-optical properties of host LC's may be considerably changed by this doping. Examining the phase transitions and the order parameter of the LC molecules is a major goal of this study. The position and alignment of the LC molecules along a common axis, called the director, is measured by the scalar quantity and it is called as order parameter (S). A perfectly ordered crystalline state has its value of 1, whereas an entirely disordered isotropic liquid state has a value of 0. Local molecular anchoring may be influenced by the presence of nanoparticles and changes the overall order parameter of composite. Researchers frequently examine optical birefringence data to accurately calculate S. In order to accurately calculate the order parameter and get a greater understanding of the molecular interactions within these composite materials, a specially programmed tool using MATLAB software is utilized.
