Stowaway's Passage

The protagonists now investigate the mysterious death of Lady Fairfax, the last member of a royal lineage, just before she can reveal the identity of her heir. As they look into the case, they face a host of suspects, each with personal stakes in the Fairfax fortune: Alexander, who believes he is the rightful heir; Edward, a blackmailer seeking to capitalize on the inheritance; and Victoria, a woman claiming to be Ladys long-lost daughter. In addition to that, a reunion of former crew members turns deadly when a series of accidents strikes, all tied to a dark secret from the ships maiden voyage four decades earlier. The detectives, aided by Vivian, the niece of a stewardess named Laura who disappeared during that fateful voyage, uncover a chilling truth. Laura had discovered fatal flaws in the ships design but was silenced to protect the companys interests. Her death was covered up, and now, as the Seraphina sinks, the truth finally comes to light.
