Stephen R. Bradley

Stephen R. Bradley was a Revolutionary War commander and U.S. Senator credited with writing the Twelfth Amendment and advocating a banning of the slave trade. This collection of Bradley's letters and personal papers provides a range of rare and significant material. This previously unpublished correspondence with presidents and the country's founders reflect Bradley's influence and diversity of interests as well as the political and cultural climate of the era.
