Staragonemis Events and the Chamber of Pots

In this novel for teenagers, a rookie hero, Staragonemis Events, is just at the beginning of his life of action, mystery and adventure when Slug, a character who has died in 8 previous novels, turns up determined to live this time. Slug elicits from Staragonemis a promise that he will assist her in achieving this goal. Mysteriously, even before his Master reveals his quest to him, characters from stories in which Slug has previously been the first death 'drop in' on Staragonemis's progress, bringing danger and adventure with them. Eventually, however, Staragonemis forms a winning partnership with one of them that sees him realise his potential and achieve his quest. And in the Chamber of Pots, Slug discovers that, as well as realizing skills she never knew she had, she has other, more personal reasons for her appearance in the story of Staragonemis Events.
