The orientalist and language scientist Frederich Mix Muller wrote his novel "German Love", and when Mai Ziada translated the second edition of this book, she changed his title and name: "Smiles and tears", and the book is saturated with thought and knowledge, and it was characterized by ease and grace, given that the author is a poet, so that the philosophical poetic spirit becomes clear In the book, his idea is mixed with emotion and fantasy scarcity. His sentences were stripped of lengthening, difficulty and thumb, as is the case with the writers of the Germans, especially scholars and philosophers, and Mai attributes this to the fact that Muller is an English with his mother, as he then became English with his wife, and his entry into England for many years, which made the language his simplicity. It deals with several memories since childhood, and he talks about that life that is elapsed with his joy and pleasure, recalling daily daily events and events in a literary philosophical narrative style, his father takes him to the prince''s palace and he knows there to princes of his generation, and the story of this young boy begins with them, where his father works in the palace, and despite that They suffer poverty, then the boy''s dreams are aspired and his heart beats with love for one of the princesses, and he tries to support her in order to get rid of a state of surrender and depression that coincides with her.
