Slave to the Dane

Aslak inn fagri, 'the handsome one', has joined the invaders' army in the hope of settling in England and forgetting about his wife's betrayal. During the attack on a Saxon village, he meets a brave, intriguing Saxon woman disguised as a man and takes her as his slave, for her protection.

Eahlwyn is, at first, horrified at finding herself at the mercy of the fierce warrior. However, she quickly sees that there is more to the enigmatic Dane than violence.
