This book represents a thesis entitled "Shoulder impingement syndrome: The role of imaging modalities in diagnosis, staging and management" .The thesis was submitted by Dr Sabah Hasan Shindakh to the College of Medicine, University of Granada in the partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Master in diagnostic and therapeutic radiology and physical medicine. The thesis was supervised by Dr. Fernando R. Santiago. The evaluation committee of the thesis included Professor Doctor Jose Luis Martin Rodreiguez, Dr Serran Olea Necolas, and assistat professor, doctor Mariana Fatima Fernandez Cabrera. The aim of the thesis was to evaluate and compare the relative advantages of each imaging modality in their ability to aid in the diagnosis, staging and management of shoulder impingement syndrome. The thesis studied the role of imaging modalities in diagnosis, staging and management of shoulder impingement syndrome, and concluded that imaging is a core component of the diagnostic process which also includes appropriate history and clinical examination.
