"Shedding Our Grave Clothes serves as a testament to four years' worth of wrestling with the beasts of procrastination and writer's block; four years of chasing the muse through the same thematic streams and pictures to produce some memorable moments and wonderful lines. There is no one single theme or binding thread beyond my own voice and yet I hope that people will take away the ideas and images evoked in this collection's title. It's meant to recall a feeling of rebirth and resurrection, of the shedding of old skins and ideals in favor of something new."
