Whilst the greatest effort has been made to ensure the quality of this text, due to the historical nature of this content, in some rare cases there may be minor issues with legibility. This book was written in California, and hence nearly all its subjects and illustrative scenes are Californian; but it comes so near to the real life in human nature, which, with its varieties, is the same everywhere, and it shows' by so many life-examples the perfect adaptation of the Gospel to humanity, that I think it quite unnecessary to make any altera.
