Secondary Instabilities of Görtler Vortices in High-Speed Boundary Layers

This thesis first reveals the mechanism of Görtler instabilities and then demonstrates how transitions at hypersonic flows can be effectively controlled (either promoted or suppressed) with Görtler or Klebanoff modes.
