The new power that science creates is good to the extent of the wisdom that characterizes the person, and it is an evil force to the extent of the foolishness in the person. If scientific civilization is to be a good civilization, then an increase in knowledge must be accompanied by an increase in wisdom, that is, a sound understanding of the goals of life, and this in itself is something that science does not provide. Therefore, an increase in knowledge is not sufficient to achieve true advancement, even if it provides one of the components of advancement.
