A novel of challenge and conflict in California's wine country. Jason had not planned to stay for long - fix up the house his father had left him and return to San Francisco. It was true, though, that the home in a small town on the Russian River did have its attractions. There was a beautiful environment with good neighbors, but this was not his life.
