Quality Presents

Many of us are lucky enough to be living in a post-peak-stuff world. We're past the point where we actually need anything else. We've all read about the psychology experiments which show us that increasing our possessions can't make us any happier. And this makes shopping for Christmas presents increasingly difficult. We'll trawl the shopping centres or catalogues, recognising that anything we might buy will be either unnecessary or unwanted, if not both. You can't buy happiness, of course... and we all learnt many years ago that money can't buy you love. But what if you discovered that you could buy improvements to your own personal qualities? Personality upgrades, if you like. What do you want to be given more of? Inspiration? Restraint? Optimism? But who knows you well enough to buy it for you? What would you buy them?
