Proverbs in Medieval Occitan Literature

Focusing on the 12th and 13th centuries, this work analyses the use of proverbial materials in the literature of southern France. The author asserts the relevance of proverbs in troubadour literature for what they reveal about troubadour training and audiences, and the mentality of Southern France.
