Project Lemon Tree K-12 Eco-STEM Teaching System is a project-based, STEM/STEAM learning system for teachers to create in-class projects up to an entire semester long experience. Students, grades K-12 gain experience in ecological sustainability, agriculture, design, engineering, construction, culinary arts, innovation, entrepreneurship & more. The ultimate goal of PLT is to empower students to create their own outdoor living classroom through lemon tree planting. This Teacher's Guide offers a quick-start checklist system, 16 modular activities, a lemon tree care plan format, student surveys, activity handouts (versions for grades K-2, 3-5 and 6-12) and common core alignments. Activities include soil science (loam, drainage, acidity pH, nutrients), pot planting lemons, ground planting lemons, lemon tree trellis, lemon tree pergola, rainwater harvesting, irrigation systems, citrus grafting, companion gardens, make great lemonade, extract lemon oil, lemon oil diffusers and lemon cleaners. Companion Student Journals are available in two versions for grades K-5 and 6-12. Journals provide brainstorming and idea capture for both individual projects and team projects.
