Phytophthora An Indian Perspective

This book contains 15 chapters contributed by Indian scientists who are working on Phytophthora diseases. The first chapter gives the general introduction about the genus Phytophthora and various types disease symptoms and diagnostics in brief. The second and third chapters explain about the genotypic markers and genomics of Phytophthora. Chapters 4 explains about late blight of potato and its management. Chapters 5 to 12 are is the review of work done on Phytopthora diseases of vegetables, fruit crops, spices, plantation crops and tuber crops in India. Chapter 13 dealt on management of fungicidal resistance in Phytophthora. Prospects of biological control in management of Phytophthora diseases are covered in Chapter 14. The last chapter highlights regulatory strategies in combating exotic Phytophthora. Hope the book is useful for Phytophthora workers in India and plant pathology students in general to know the latest developments on Phytophthora diseases.
