This paper intends to analyze the use of physical force as an element that composes the identity of former military police officers imprisoned in the Nelson Hungria Maximum Security Penitentiary. From their understanding of the use of physical force in the activities of maintaining public order, we seek to understand whether being a military police officer, for this group, is associated with the disproportionate use of physical force.
