The journey begins with the first appearance of bipedal hominids and ends in our highly complex modern age. It reviews environmental, geographical and social factors that have driven the evolutionary process. The journey shows how evolution has been a cruel master and how survival has depended on the ability to learn, adapt and to grow and succeed. It shows how we... individually and collectively... are endowed with the physiological and sociological capabilities to be the formulators of our own success. To this end the writer proposes a more comprehensive definition of success which points to an underlying dynamic... a proactive socio-biological thread of combined anatomical, cognitive and social evolution via engagement of the synergistic processes of (biological) neuroplasticity and (social) memetics.
