The major cause behind this problem is Green House gasses which causes greenhouse effect. With rapid growth of world's industrialization, the levels of greenhouse gases being dumping into the atmosphere has increased which is making the problem worst. Industries are dumping waste heat into the atmosphere which is again increasing the temperature of atmosphere and at the same time useful energy is being dumped. This waste heat can be utilized which can solve both the problems i.e., firstly it will cool off the atmosphere and secondly it will decrease the energy input requirement of the industry since the waste heat is being utilized.
