Outside the year

The "Speech Circles" project brought together eight women writers from the cities and villages of the Delta in a nine-month program. He brought them together in what looked like a women''s (and feminist) session in a space in front of a house in an Egyptian village. Speech is power. Language gives the story its existence, and the story draws some of our features, and we spend our lives tracing those features, both constant and changing, moment by moment, day by day. How does a writer write? Without being in contact with her consciousness, that lens that captures the details of the world, the features of the self, and the non-stop dialogues that take place between the world and the self? One of the driving questions for this ambitious project.
