Old Colony Days

This little book is the second volume in the series of Uncle Sam's Old-time Stories. The first vol ume, The Coming of the White Men, dealt with discoveries and early settlements; this takes up the story where that left off and brings the history of our country about to the time of the Revolution. The brave men and women who were willing to face unknown dangers when they sought a free home in the American wilderness, found these dan gers very real and often terrible. At every turn there were foes to contend with, cold, hunger and sickness(deg) the lurking savages who looked upon them with Jealous eyes; the longing to see the familiar faces of the dear ones they had left behind and the loved scenes of their childhood.
