Ocean Dynamics in the Oc. South Atlantic in Climate Change Scenarios

The South Atlantic Ocean is extremely important for the global climate, since it is the only ocean that transports heat from high latitudes to low latitudes; heat that crosses the equator and reaches the North Atlantic. Because of this importance, knowing how the dynamics of the South Atlantic may change in the coming decades is essential to understanding how the global climate will behave in the future. In this way, this book addresses the changing behavior of this dynamic in the face of results from numerical climate simulations of two climate change scenarios from the IPCC. These scenarios are possible projections of the future climate and are based on social and economic assessments of the evolution of society.
