Although Humpbacks are mostly solitary whales they will hunt together.
They often use the "bubble-net feeding" method. They form a circle 10-100 feet across and about 50 feet under the surface of the water. They blow bubbles from their spout while circling upwards towards the surface. This creates a curtain of bubbles that traps the fish.
