Muqadma Tafheem-ul-Quran

Tafheem-ul-Quran (Towards Understanding the Qur'an) is a translation and commentary of the Qur'an by Islamist ideologue Abul A'la Maududi. Maududi began writing the book in 1942 and completed it in 1972. This book actually is a foreword presented at the beginning of the book 'Tafheem-ul-Quran' by Maulana Maududi, in which the importance and virtue of the Holy Quran and the need for its interpretation and explanation are highlighted in a very commendable manner.
