Mjolnir: A Story about Ultimate

Frisbees float. That sentence alone tells you that a competitive game with a Frisbee is different than that with a ball; chasing air, fighting the wind and leaping into the sky or laying out inches above the grass, is the every play expectation of a competitive ultimate Frisbee player. The sky and the grass are the boundaries of this nouveau sport where contestants' honor literally states "a blade of grass touching your disc results in a turnover."Mjolnir follows Kent Elstan, a freshman from the suburbs of Chicago, as he arrives at St. Mathews college and discovers a new sport that will become his and his friends' obsession. Along the way, he learns new skills, travels all around the country, makes new friends, finds love, and learns about the struggles of depression.Joining his college club team Mj lnir becomes the college experience that defines Kent. Learning a new culture, ultimate, requires Kent to keep a sense of humor. His club team seems poised to break thru to greatness with the arrival of other talented freshmen like Kent, veterans, and skilled transfer students. The team might just find national prominence; if they can just all work together.
