Market Bureaucracy

Ever wondered why policymakers seem so convinced that more competition is the solution to all economic problems? Or why, despite the last decades of “free market” reform, we appear to have ended up with more government rather than less? This dissertation explores the relationship between government and neoliberal ideas about competition through a study of EU state aid policy.
