Margot Merriweather

The fun-filled Lackovic family live in Perching Pile, close to the cottage of the witch, Margot Merriweather. They are deeply shaken when one of their daughters, Esther, is kidnapped from under their noses by the wicked Hobgoblin, who has an old score to settle. When Margot and her talking cat, Mordred, set off that morning to lay in stores for the coming snowfall, they have no idea that they are about to become caught up rescuing the missing Esther from the clutches of the evil Hobgoblin. To outwit him, they will have to befriend the tricky Wood Dragon and call on the help of the smallest doctor in town, who happens to be a bat. Between them, can they restore poor Esther to her family? Helped by a generous sprinkling of spine-tingling magic and an unreliable broom, and buoyed up by some mouthwatering catering by the cook, Mrs Marmalade, resourceful Margot and Mordred set about sorting out the mess. But will they succeed?
