Les Miserables

In Victor Hugo's story of injustice, bravery, and love, the adventures of escaped convict Jean Valjean, who is trying to put his criminal past behind him, are followed. But his attempts to fit in with the community are continuously threatened by his own conscience when another guy is detained in his place due to a case of mistaken identity and by the tenacious inquiries of Inspector Javert. But Valjean's freedom is not just for himself; he has pledged to guard Fantine's infant daughter, who is a prostitution victim due to Fantine's extreme poverty.
