Taiwan is a dangerous flashpoint with huge potential to ignite a hot war, even accidentally. All relevant stakeholders such as the PRC, the United States, Japan and Taiwan are arraying their shields and swords to fight a war over the control of Taiwan, in case a war breaks out. Taiwan controls both the regional and international supply chains that may get disrupted when and if a war breaks out. Taiwan produces the most sophisticated semi-conductors, where the United States has substantial stakes. China declared Taiwan as a runaway province, which needs to be re-united with the mother mainland, even by military means, as a last resort. The United States has been following the 'strategic ambiguity' policy since it accepted the one China policy in 1971. That said, as of late, the United States is getting more resolute to defend Taiwan militarily for obvious geopolitical reasons, should the exigencies so need. Such a development calls for concern for the world at large, which finds its similarities with the present Russia-Ukraine War. The world, just, cannot afford another Russia-Ukraine War in another part of the world in the same hemisphere. This book is for university and college teachers and students, relevant think tanks, relevant researchers, diplomats, military professionals, business community and the general reader.
