Investment of Trust Funds

Whilst the greatest effort has been made to ensure the quality of this text, due to the historical nature of this content, in some rare cases there may be minor issues with legibility. There have come to public notice recently several cases of financial loss to trustees because of the inferior kind of investments selected. This has caused it to be inferred that there are many persons who are not familiar with the precautions to be observed in selecting securities. It is desired, therefore, to venture some sug gestions to individual trustees exercising this discretionary power, which may assist in the selection of sound investments. The suggestions may also be of some value to those who are under the mistaken impression that high rates of interest accompany safe investments. The desirable classes of securities described herein are of the standard required of securities in the laws which have been passed in these several States to restrict trust fund investments. The book is necessarily limited in extent; but the investments recommended, and classified in the schedules, are intended to serve as a guide.
