In January of 1944 the United States was preparing for its France. Raymond, an aviation cadet in the Army Air Corps, was in his final months of training at NC State College in Raleigh, NC. In November, he returned to Europe. But not to Northern Ireland, where his fianc e impatiently awaited from her home in Belfast.
