I Am Black!: Single Parents

My desire in writing this series is to assist early learners and others in understanding the challenges faced within Black communities in an attempt to invoke change in the next generation. I named this series of books I Am Black and not I Am African-American because many Black Americans have not and unfortunately will not have the opportunity to visit or see the beauty of Africa and its history. The I Am Black series is based on the thoughts, feelings, and life experiences as seen through the eyes of many Black Americans. As a Black female, I have experienced hatred and discrimination from people of different races and nationalities, including Black Americans. However, their thoughts nor feelings define my character, my actions, or me. What manifests within us may not translate outwardly to others because internally they may be negativity. The I Am Black series will address daily issues dealt with in many Black American families.
