Hundred-Year Man

A man returns to a changed settlement carrying a full inner continuity that history no longer recognizes. He is not treated as a miracle, a hero, or a revelation. He is processed as an irregular claimant whose memory threatens inheritance, burial order, and the official story that allowed the settlement to survive. As a civic archivist begins testing his exactness against the wounded record of the place, the novel shifts from credibility crisis into institutional impossibility: the truth is no longer in doubt, but its admission would damage too much of the present to be allowed cleanly. The Hundred-Year Man is an intimate, severe speculative thriller about continuity without recognition, witness without reward, and the human cost of remaining exact when truth has become socially inadmissible.
