This is the second novel in the "Misadventures of Haole boy" four book series and is based on the author's own misadventures in Iran. Haole boy and his friend Andy travel to Calcutta India together, but their journey is halted by passport problems that leave him languishing in a cheap hotel for foreigners called the Amir Kabir. The Iran of Shah Reza Pahlavi is a menacing place for the Haole boy and his friend.
