History of fine arts in the Middle Ages

Europe is decorated with a large number of medieval buildings. Anyone who contemplates these buildings is amazed at how the name "Dark Ages" is given to those centuries that brought into existence such edifices that combined luxury, majesty, durability, and beauty.The most important remaining medieval buildings are its churches, town halls, and bell towers. As for the great walls that surrounded its cities and the fortresses that housed its supervision, we see only a small number of them now that have preserved traces of bygone eras.
