I hadn''t known how much my life was about to change or what kind of newness I might find. If I had any clue, I might have taken Pops and the girls and run for the hills, yet what would running really do against the Kaijimoto? I have heard the stories and the rumors. Saw the papers, with their fear mongering or idolizing. Yet nothing was about to prepare me for the encounter that I was soon to face, nor the unlikely friendships that I would find myself wanting to have. For once, I found that my eyes that had always been opened were just now starting to see. Nothing could have prepared me for having to make a choice that would soon be taken from me.
