Haunted Whitby

The ruins of Whitby Abbey provide an ideal setting for ghost stories. Many ghostly experiences in the abbey grounds feature here, including an account of treasure hunters who were in search of rich pickings and were disturbed by an unimpressed spectre. Whitby even has its share of ghost animals, including the panther-like Burguest that terrorises the moors, but the town is perhaps best-known as one of the locations for Bram Stoker's Dracula.
