Grin's Fairy Tales

GRIN'S FAIRY TALES is a collection of contemporary, adult fairy tales, inspired by the author's coming-of-age in the Salzkammergut - an Alpine region of Austria, steeped in lore and natural splendour, where humanity, nature and mystery exist in mutual reverence.

In this place of mountain-shadowed lakes and legend, myths of supernatural wonder are passed down through generations. These tales hold memories of the land and the people - and of this laughing author - changing, as the author changes, to embrace a new country and language.

From the ghostly beauty of Hallstatt, to the enchanted woods around Bad Ischl, and the stormy shores of St. Wolfgang, the reader is invited to explore a rich heritage, where every graveyard is a sacred grove and every forest hides secrets.

Featuring cover art and beautiful, hand-drawn illustrations and prints by Jim Anderson, an award-winning multi-media artist, whose prints have been awarded a number of prizes in major exhibitions, including the 2016 T. N. Lawrence prize.
