Green Tea and Breast Cancer

Breast cancer (BC) is an important cause of mortality globally. Chemotherapy is used as a preventive treatment against BC; however, this usage has many burden effects. Thus, the era of natural therapy has gained popularity in recent years due to its safe impact on normal cells. Green tea (GT), one of these essential herbal medicines, is an excellent source of anticancer agents containing polyphenols (PP) and compounds called catechins, including epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EG), which makes them attractive sources for research into potentially novel therapeutics. GT can induce breast cancer cell death through modulating apoptosis signaling pathways.
