Grandpa Billy

Born in 1901 to a couple of music-hall performers, his father being one of a pair of "e;musical comedians"e; billed as the Wedburn Brothers, and his mother being what was termed a 'Soubrette' (a lively and flirtatious Soprano). An ordinary man "e;doing his bit,"e; for Queen and Country, Billy lived entirely inside the 20th Century. He lived through five British Windsor Monarchs, and nineteen British Prime Ministers!Always with an active interest in current affairs, and world events, his prestigious titles included Camberwell Beauty, Mill Operative, Grocery Warehouseman aka Vostizza Bill, Butcher Boy, Dance Band Banjoist, Husband and Father, RAF Corporal, Pops, Engineering Inspector, and latterly Grandpa Billy. From tiddlywinks to armouring Spitfires, Billy was survived by five grandchildren, and four great grandchildren, this is a fascinating and highly interesting story told in his own words - well worth a read!
