Ghar Vaapsi (Short Stories)

The short-story, is one of the most important literary subgenres in Urdu literature, despite its relative youth. This was influenced by western and literary concepts and tendencies, as well as the contemporary industrial and mechanized environment. A Dalit is one on whom the law of untouchability has been imposed, who has been forced to do difficult and dirty work, who has been prohibited from getting an education and freely trading and earning a living. In this regard, Ahmad Sagheer Siddiqui has written several important stories in this regard. He is basically a protest story writer. Protest attitudes are scattered in his stories and they also include a reformist element so that the plight of society can be mentioned well. A humane society that is apparently humane but many elements of animalism have also prevailed in it, Ahmad Sagheer has tried to convey these feelings in his stories to the fullest extent.

دلت وہ ہے جس پر چھوا چھوت کا قانون لاگو کیا گیا ہے، جسے مشکل اور گندے کام کرنے کے لیے مجبور کیا گیا ہے، جسے تعلیم حاصل کرنے اور آزادانہ طور پر تجارت اور روزگار کرنے سے منع کیا گیا ۔ اس لحاظ سے دیکھا جائے تو احمد صغیر صدیقی نے اس حوالے سے کئی اہم افسانے رقم کیے ہیں۔ وہ بنیادی طور پر احتجاجی افسانہ نگار ہیں۔ ان کے افسانوں میں احتجاج کے رویے بکھرے پڑے ہیں اور ان میں اصلاحی عنصر بھی شامل ہوتا ہے تاکہ معاشرے کی زبوں حالی کا ذکر بہ خوبی ہو سکے۔ ایک انسانی معاشرہ جو بظاہر تو انسانی ہے لیکن اس میں حیوانیت کے متعدد عناصر بھی غالب ہو چکے ہیں، انہی احساسات کو احمد صغیر نے اپنے افسانوں میں برتنے کی حتیٰ الواسع کوشش کی ہے۔
