Gered Mankowitz is among the most important, prolific and hard-working photographers of the last century. Mankowitz made a name for himself in London’s burgeoning Swinging Sixties scene. Mankowitz never stopped growing as an artist, taking promotional shots of movie stars such as Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton, creating prize-winning advertising imagery for clients from Heineken to British Rail, shooting emerging artists, and publishing numerous books of his work.
